“Anyone who knows me knows that I have struggled my whole life with my weight and hormones.

In 2017 after 2 years of hell weighing 128.8kg and a size 26, the medications were no longer working, I was gaining weight and nothing could stop it, I was becoming someone I didn’t like so on the recommendation of my gynecologist i had my stomach sleeved in hopes that it would swing my hormones around.

Fast forward to today and I’m 75kg a size 12 and I don’t see the difference between the two me’s, I know I’ve lost weight but I just don’t see it when I look in the mirror which is why I decided to have a portrait session with Lea to try and get me past my body dysmorphia.

Unlike normal people who are so excited about a glamour session and being made up I was anxious and excited and feeling ridiculous for doing it all at once.

It’s been a long time since I have been in front of the camera and I am so much more comfortable behind the lens these days.

But let’s face it who could not have fun when hanging out with lea, she is a ball of positive energy and just makes you have no choice but to feel good about your self and your body, I had so much fun from start to finish.

I loved my makeover and lea’s imagination has made for some amazing images and I still can’t believe that it’s me in them.

Thank god I will need updated headshots next year so we can do this again – Heather xx

To see your wall of self-consciousness drop and this incredibly feminine beauty appear in front of my lens was mindblowing to witness.

It is weird times we are in right now.

I came across this message I feel it captures my personal journey – I am becoming

Do you feel like things are falling apart?…

Me: Hey Universe.

Universe: Hello…..

Me: I’m falling apart. Can you put me back together?

Universe: I would rather not.

Me: Why?

Universe: Because you aren’t a puzzle.

Me: What about all of the pieces of my life that are falling down onto the ground?

Universe: Let them stay there for a while. They fell off for a reason. Take some time and decide if you need any of those pieces back.

Me: You don’t understand! I’m breaking down!

Universe: No – you don’t understand. You are breaking through. What you are feeling is just growing pains. You are shedding the things and the people in your life that are holding you back. You aren’t falling apart. You are falling into place.

Relax.

Take some deep breaths and allow those things you don’t need anymore to fall off of you. Quit holding onto the pieces that don’t fit you anymore. Let them fall off. Let them go.

Me: Once I start doing that, what will be left of me?

Universe: Only the very best pieces of you.

Me: I’m scared of change.

Universe: I keep telling you – YOU AREN’T CHANGING!! YOU ARE BECOMING!

Me: Becoming who?

Universe: Becoming who I created you to be! A person of light and love and charity and hope and courage and joy and mercy and grace and compassion.
I made you for more than the shallow pieces you have decided to adorn yourself with that you cling to with such greed and fear. Let those things fall off of you. I love you!

Don’t change! …

Become! Become!

Become who I made you to be. I’m going to keep telling you this until you remember it.

Me: There goes another piece.

Universe: Yep. Let it be.

Me: So … I’m not broken?

Universe: Of course Not! – but you are breaking like the dawn.

It’s a new day.

Become!!!
